Exercises in Style is an experimental live fictional film created from streaming security camera feeds located in the Bay Area and available online. There will be four versions of the film. All of them will use the same camera feeds and will tell the same story (through text displayed on top of the images), but will vary in their style and form. Both the screenings and the edition of the films will happen live at StoreFrontLab.

Taking as a title and inspiration the famous work by Raymond Queneau, Exercises in Style is an experimental live film made out of footage from live security camera feeds located in the Bay Area and available online. Following the same story told in the form of subtitles and always using the same cameras, the form and style of the film will vary in each version, and will be subjected to the characteristic chance of our daily “now”, exclusively dictated by others’ live cameras and their owners personal framing purposes. Overall, this film reflects upon real time, variations, involuntary decisions and observation.
